True,facebook is a great avenue to stay in touch with family and friends and even,your long lost friends. You can even use it to promote your business if you have a website,by creating fan pages for your company but don't you just hate it when you open your email to find several bunch of irrelevant emails from facebook? You keep accumulating friends,get email notifications on messages,comments,friend requests etc. This can be a really big nuisance because you will have to keep on deleting everytime they come so you can see the relevant ones at real time. I'm not saying that these notifications are so irrelevant because you can reply to comments,messages etc if you do not have access to your facebook account by replying the email but whats the point of it if you have access to you facebook account and see the same notifications. Enough of the chit-chat :-) ,well,you can turn off those notifications by just following these steps.
1)Login to your facebook account at www.facebook.com
2)click on 'settings' at the top right menu on the page.
3)Click on 'notifications' on the account header.
4)Put off your desired categories then save your changes
