MTN 3.5G Video Cam

WHAT IS IT?
MTN’s Video Cam is a 3.5G service that allows you to view
areas in your home via your 3G phone by simply making a video call on MTN’s 3G network to your
MTN Video Cam (ZTE MF58) containing an MTN SIM.
The MTN Video Cam is a small, simple to use, cutting-edge, personal remote camera device.
You simply place an active MTN (prepaid or postpaid) in the MTN Video Cam, and place the MTN Video Cam at a location of your choice. You can dial the MTN Video Cam from your 3G video phone, and then view the picture
and sound captured by the monitor, in real-time, at anytime
anywhere within MTN’s coverage.
You have full control of your Video Cam: you can control who
accesses your MTN Video Cam (up to 20 users allowed. You can rotate the MTN video Cam remotely, and can record videos
with it, too.

WHO IS IT FOR?
The MTN Video Cam is for all existing and new MTN customers
with 3G video phones, who would like the convenience or
pleasure of being able to keep an eye on precious things anywhere within MTN’s 3.5G coverage.

BENEFITS:
MTN’s Video Cam is an ideal service that can help busy parents, for example, to remotely
monitor their children or nannies and the activities taking place in their home or office when they’re away.

It is easy to set-up – all you need to do is to purchase the Video
Cam and put an MTN SIM in it.

The ultimate remote controlled viewing experience
It has excellent features: rotate,
zoom, record, infrared-support
for night use

Privacy – you choose who sees the live recording

It is mobile – your SIM and the powerful battery make it so!

HOW DO I GET IT?
You will need to purchase an MTN Video Cam, and an MTN prepaid or postpaid SIM from any
MTN Walk-in Centre or Connect in your neighborhood.

Charge the Video Cam for 7 hours until fully charged, otherwise Video Cam may not
function correctly. When the battery is fully charged, the
power indicator light will change from blue to green. Set the date
& time, just as you would for your mobile phone. (You can refer the User Guide in the box
containing the Video Cam at purchase).

Position the Video Cam so that it is directed towards your area of interest.

Insert an MTN SIM Card (note the
number), and now you are all set
to start video calling into MTN Video Cam. Simply place a video
call to the number of the SIM in the Video Cam to start watching.

After the video call is connected, the monitor will sound “Beep”.

The first person to dial the Video Cam successfully becomes the Video Cam’s Administrator (so, as
the owner of the Video Cam, you call the Video Cam first before adding other users).

After this first call is connected, you will be prompted to enter
user password (you can find the password on the MTN Video Cam
package) and end by pressing * key. If the password is valid, you
will hear a “BEEP” sound, and you
will see the video interface.

After 3 consecutive incorrect password entries, or if you do
not enter the password within
60 seconds, the Video Cam will be disconnected automatically.

Start a video call to the number of the SIM you inserted in MTN
Video Cam from your 3G Video phone, and then view the picture
and sound captured by the monitor, in real-time, at anytime
anywhere within MTN 3.5G coverage. (note: both the MTN
Video Cam and the Caller must be
within MTN’s 3.5G coverage area in order for video calls to the Video Cam to work).

You can rotate the Video Cam upwards, downwards, left and
right from a regular mobile phone if you wish, using the
number keys 2, 8, 4 and 6 on the phone, respectively. You can also press key 3 to zoom in and key 1
to zoom out.
Video call rates apply according to your tariff plan. For instance, if you are on XtraConnect, you can
take advantage of the 15% Family and Friends (FaF) Video
call discount that applies to any four numbers you have
registered on the XtraConnect FAF Video Call service.
