MTN Nigeria inaugurates e-library at UNIBEN

Communications giant,MTN Nigeria,on monday,inaugurated for the use of students and lecturers an ultramodern e-library under its Universities Connect project at the University of Benin(UNIBEN),Benin City. The library complex is equipped with 128 networked computers,tired servers,two high capacity printers,one sound proof 100KVA generator. According to the chairman of MTN Foundation,a subsidiary of MTN Nigeria,Ambassador Hamzat Ahmadu,the library also has VSAT equipment and internet connectivity with paid up two-year subscription.

He said the Universities Connect library was linked to world class digital libraries across the world with access to electronic books,journals and magazines in various subject areas. Ahmadu explained that the ''Universities Connect project is a world-class e-library set up in tertiary institutions to ease research efforts by students and teachers alike. The project seeks to provide students and lecturers with access to vital information required to excel in their studies. It provides our youths with the platform to compete favourably with their counterparts in other parts of the world''
